Nature Is Calling Me

Last weekend I went to the mountains to visit my mother-in-law and father-in-law.  I always enjoy visiting there and find the surroundings very peaceful with the pine trees and nature showing its beauty.

I love to look at all her treasures around the house.  This figurine belonged to her sister.

This green bowl I've always admired.  It is gold plated, and it belonged to her grandmother in the 1800's.

I love genealogy, and she showed me old pictures of the family.  This is her mother when she was a young woman.

We walked outside onto the patio and saw the most beautiful view.

Her garden was filled with lovely daisies.

A few friends stopped by...

Her beautiful home that my husband helped build.

We had a good day in the mountains.  I, too, hope to have a view like this someday.

Do you love the mountains as much as me?

  2. The view is gorgeous...who wouldn't want that! I love pine trees and here in Texas they are quite tall. Unfortunately, they cause ear problems for me. I don't know why but if I live near them (and I did in East Texas), my ears drain. Allergies I suppose.

  11. Beautiful! And yes - I love the mountains. I love the convenience of having everything available in the city, too, though. But - i would love to go to the mountains and get away. Maybe after my June weddings I will have a chance to go SOMEWHERE. Anywhere without a phone would be good.

  19. I'm glad you found my blog and that I then looked at yours. I love the green bowl and it makes me wish I had more things to remember my mother by.
Her house is a delight,we see more and more wooden houses here, they are allways pretty. Where I live is very rural and we have a small wood as well.

That's definetly one of those remaining Havens.

Breathtaking Beauty indeed, Sherri, and lovely details shared. Reminded me:
