Happy Mother's Day

I'd like to dedicate this Mother's Day post to my mom, who passed away three years ago.  My mom was a talented, loving, generous mom who always put her family before herself.

I am very interested in my heritage, and was always asking her questions, which she answered with a smile.  She was Spanish and French Canadian, and taught me that where you came from was the foundation of your roots.

She cooked, sewed, worked on projects around her home, and danced in her kitchen.  I miss her dearly, and think about her often.

Here is a field of daisies for her.

"If I could give you
one thing in life,
I would give you
the ability to see
yourself through
my eyes.  Only then
would you realize
how special you
are to me."
~unknown

Happy Mother's Day mom, from your youngest child.

You did a beautiful tribute to your mother. I think that is the most favorite person in the family, who loves, thinks, sees all the others and herself last. I wish you to have fun on your mother in-law and we expect lots of photos.Thank you for your nice comment .

  20. What a beautiful post! And beautiful pictures! I have a golden retriever, so I'm especially fond of those and I love the daisies. I had daisies at my old house and want some here, but haven't made a place to put them yet. I think I'll have to do that soon! You made me miss my daisies!

  21. Hi Sheri,
What a great tribute to your Mom. Your mention of your Mom dancing in the kitchen reminded me of the scene where Meg Ryan's character is leaving the Little Shop Around the Corner for the last time. She gazes back at the shop before locking it for the final time and sees her Mother and her twirling/dancing together when she was a little girl. I am sure you know the scene. Thank you, God, for our gift of memory. I feel your heart at this time. June 1 will be 4 years since my Mom passed. Dad followed in August that same year...2008. I am always sad when Mother's Day rolls around and I see all those cards coming out. Hugs to you at this time and always. Our Moms will live forever in our hearts and in our memories. Each year, I try to do something at Mother's Day to remember my Mom. This year...either plant a special plant, buy flowers she loved, or bake something she used to made. Just my way of celebrating my Mom. Enjoy a special Mother's Day with your girls. It is so nice that you have them and that you are all close. Hugs to you ((((((hugs))))) an happy mother's day to you, Sheri! xoxo Kim

  22. Sheri,

What a beautiful post! I'm sure your mom is looking down from above and feels very blessed to have had you for her daughter.

My mom passed away about 7 years ago so I can sympathize with how you must be feeling. Mother's Day is always sad for me.

  24. What a lovely tribute to your mom. I know she is watching over you. She lives on in everything you say and do. That field of daisies brought me to tears. When my grandma was dying, she wouldn't let go. She was suffering so I told her there was a field of daisies on the other side. She LOVED daisies. I said to kick off her shoes and go running in it. She smiled. And shortly after passed. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.

Happy early mother's day for you Sheri! Have you seen any more humming birds? I just put my feeder up yesterday. I usually will get my first hummer by mother's day. Your son and daughters sure are blessed to have you for a mom. I can tell by what you write that you have a kind heart.
