A Night in Paris

Sometimes we have themed get-togethers to add a bit of festivity to the weekend. One of our favorites is French night.

For dinner, we went downtown to a lovely little French cafe all lit up just like the City of Lights.

We dined on French onion soup, quiche lorraine, and meat lasagna.

We had planned to take a picture of our delicious meal for you...But the food was so good that we got a bit carried away and forgot all about the camera until we had eaten just about everything up! Here's a little taste for you though...

Afterwards, we were stuffed, but we just had to order one of their decadent desserts to go.

Nothing goes better with a glass of French wine than rich, velvety tiramisu.

When we got home, we popped in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams. Have you seen it? It's a charming story about a writer in Paris who travels back in time to the 1920s Jazz Age. Along the way, he meets expatriate authors Gertrude Stein, Ernest Hemingway, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Pablo Picasso even makes an appearance.

The beautiful shots of Paris make you feel as if you've been transported back in time too. If you love French culture or 1920s literature, this adventure through Paris is a must see!

"I can never decide whether Paris is more beautiful by day or by night."
~ Midnight in Paris ~

If you have a themed night in the near future, let us know how it turns out!

Bisous!

  6. Yummy! I hope you had to walk past the desert window to get to your table, though. Otherwise you might no kow to save enough room! I normally fill up on dinner and can't hold a desert, so I skip - but keep contemplating ordering desert first - someday!

  7. Love French food...actually any European food! While in Zurich, Switzerland 10 years ago, we stayed in a quaint hotel called Hotel Montana which was located a couple blocks from Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich's main downtown shopping area. The food in the hotel was deLishious... my favorite being Creme Brulee! I think you pay as much for the atmosphere in a restaurant as you do for the food!
