La Vie en Rose

"Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose

When you kiss me, heaven sighs
And though I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose

When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart
A world where roses bloom

And when you speak, angels sing from above
Everyday words seem to turn into love songs

Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose"

La Vie en Rose was written by the beloved French artist, Edith Piaf, during World War II.

She led a tragic yet successful life, and she is well known today as one of France's most talented singers.

Since then, many singers have covered this charming song, including one of our favorites, Louis Armstrong.

Wishing YOU a rosy day ;-)

It has taken me a little while to get over here, but thank you for your recent visit[s]! Poor French at Heart might not make it, because Quiddity2 seems to be where I keep posting. But I'd be happy to follow you and vice versa, as it does seem we have quite a bit in common. I just wish my daughter would blog with me :( Lucky you!!!]
I love roses and Edith Piaf [ though the movie left me a little depressed] so today's post is right up my alley! Beautiful photos!

  26. Hello Sherri! Thanks for visiting me this week and for leaving such a sweet comment.

Love this post! I had the pleasure of visiting Mme Piaf's tomb when I toured the Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris about 4 years ago. Her tomb was very simple, but wow...she still gets a lot of visitors and fresh flowers. She's definitely a legend.
