What's Your Style?

When I'm asked what my style is in the home, it's sometimes hard to say because I like so many different things.  I love the dark traditional furniture because I think it's rich looking and gives warmth to the home.  I also like looking at other houses that have the dark traditional furniture.  I am a lover of candles, and have a thing for jewels.  I came across an emerald pendant (my birthstone), and hung it over a statue of Mary.  I like pretty Victorian tea cups, blue ones being my favorite.  I have a soft spot for cloth dolls, especially if they are hand made.  I guess my style in the home would be old world, vintage, and eclectic, which are usually those items that say "hello, I'm one-of-a-kind, take me home."  Here's a few pics to give you a better idea of my style and taste in the home.

So, what is your style?
I bet our blog friends would love to hear.

You have some lovely things, that hutch cabinet is fabulous and Mary is welcome in our home too. At our house she graces our yard. My style must be called eclectic, a mix of what I like.

I actually love all styles so I am eclectic. My style is: if I like it, I use it.

Judging by the pictures in your post, you've got fabulous style and taste.
Style, however, may depend a lot on age. At a certain age one prefers Comfort above all, and that would include furniture and things that are easy to move, find, and clean. Exposure of small, valuable things is not reccommended for security reasons. Theft has not vanished from the world yet.

Sheri, everything looks so pretty in your home. I like a home that doesn't look like a model home. Personal touches like you have shared really show the personality of its owners. That is such a gorgeous white pitcher you have on your table! As you know I like traditional furnishings as it's what I grew up with and I still enjoy after all these years. Have a nice weekend, my friend. ♥

I like your style, Sheri, a mix of your favorite things. I believe that the essential element of decor (or fashion) is style, and style is quite personal, distinctive. This is why I've never been a big fan of fads. Somehow it eludes style...unless a certain fad happens to be our style. teehee
Love your blue stemware, and warm wood tones. It all says home to me, my friend. Sure would love to visit with you.
As for my style, I'd have to say eclectic, and at the moment this tropical girl feels very much at home in British Colonial with some coastal.

This was fun.
Happy Saturday to you.

Good Evening! Oh, I loved seeing your pictures. Your home and style are beautiful. The emerald pendant is lovely. Like you, I love candles. Your blue glassware and your teacups are lovely. Oh, and the sweet cloth dolls. My style is much the same as yours. Have a great evening. xo

I love the tea cup with roses...can't pass one up when I find one at the thrift store. And I have a mixture of things in my home too. LOVE the dark wood! And you add those little details that make a home special! Hugs!

What sweet style you have, Sheri. I, too, like the deep dark rich furniture but I also like lighter furniture, too. Not the blond stuff. mind you, but I don't mind a painted finish here and there.
I also like candles.
I think my style is probably eclectic/traditional if I had to name it.
Hope you are having a good weekend. xo Diana

LOVE that pretty pitcher. Just so nice. Dark woods are nice and traditional it's true. I have oak throughout my house but really prefer deep red of mahogany.

PS) I was young when I picked oak, now that my tastes have changed as an older woman, can't afford to replace it all.

What a delightful post, Sheri. I enjoyed seeing you style, and love the emerald pendant, your rose jug, lots of little details. Your furniture is very beautiful too. I like the dark wood, but living in a hot climate also have a lot of white mixed in with the wood to lighten up the rooms. I plan to paint a few more things white in the future. Happy Sunday.

Hello my friend. Style is a such an individual thing and it's often a gateway to finding out more about a person. I love your style because it says that you are a gentle person who enjoys the peace and quiet of home. My style is totally different from yours, but both of us cherish the same things such as tranquility, minimalism (to help aid in that peaceful tone) and we both love BLUE!

Whatever one's personal style, may it bring joy!

Beautiful!!

My home is rustic and woods decor in our living room. We have beach theme bathroom and a rubber duck bathroom. ;-)
My kitchen is a mix of sunflowers and birdhouses.
Our bedroom is dark blue with an accent of red.

I do love so many things. I decorate with the items I love.

My style is eclectic. It leans more toward the rustic and informal as opposed to formal. Some of my furniture is early American, some not. Some old, little new. Lots of wood. My bedroom is airier. And I have loads of quilts, mostly vintage. Lots of art -- a little of mine, mostly other artists. Too much clutter but it's all stuff I love!

I think your home is lovely!

Your style is beautiful..as are you my friend!
I love that each one individually has their own style and it reveals its own beauty about that person.
I love a lot of various styles but have a preference for shabby chic, farmhouse style, country, bohemian, and romantic prairie. They are my favourites. :)
Your home looks tranquil and quite lovely and welcoming.

Thank you for dropping in Sherri...you're always such a blessing xo

All my heart,
Deborah

Sheri, I love your home. The white rose pitcher is amazing. Love it. I think my style is eclectic. A little of this and a bit of that. I think if you love it , you can make it work somewhere in your home. I am going to look back to previous posts that I have missed. Blessings for a great new week. Love, xoxo, Susie

Hello sweet Sheri, I love all of your special touches. You have a way of making things so cozy. My style... I like an eclectic mix myself. Right now I have touches of comfort and luxe - like faux fur pillows and throws- to keep us cozy. I love Italianate style mixed with a modern blend so I am really all over the place. My home office is light, bright and white-definitely mod.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I was having significant issues with the site going down recently. Things should be back to normal now.
Always fun to catch up with you.
Hugs today,
Heather

Oh Sheri. Great photos. Love your style. I like baubles and sparkling things, too. My style is on the Victorian side. Cluttered, too. ha ha I love candles and flowers, bright colors and brass. Also, dolls and dollhouse miniatures, stained glass pieces, flowering fragrant plants and anything crystal. I think we have many likes in common. I think you are great! Susan

Style? Not sure I actually have one. I just throw together what I like. I have antiques with newer stuff. I love my walls covered with pics that I have taken. I craft and I have that stuff around....so I am not really sure what you call it.....Pam's Pretties? Or Treasures Thrown Together? haha.....

I am not sure there is a name for my style! haha....I like darker stuff, for sure not into white. I really don't like putting color on the wall but I love to use it in decorating. I love old, mixed with new. I like rustic but not in cowgirl rustic. I like rust and metal and wood! I love things around me that have family history but then I love things around me that has only my history! But you know, I like how I am, I really don't want a certain style.
