More Rain To Come

You may have heard about all the rain and storms we're having in California.  Wednesday night after I went to bed, I heard a big "thump" around my house.  I didn't know what it was, so I went to look and then headed back to bed.  Then, the doorbell rang, and it was my neighbor telling us that the huge tree next to our house had fallen down and that it almost hit one of our cars that was parked.  The storm was really howling that night, and this is what it looked like the next morning.

Even though the tree fell
next to our house,
all the rain that we're having
is a good thing,

and I'm glad for caring neighbors
who look out for one another
around my neck of the woods.

There's more rain coming,
and it will last until Monday,
so I heard.  : )

I'm sorry you lost your beautiful tree. So glad no one was hurt though!!!! We had a tree fall over a couple of years ago during a bad storm too. It was around 75 years old so we were very sad to see it go.
Have a great weekend!!

Thankful you were not hurt by the tree. We had one fall on our house years ago. It was so loud! It damaged the porch only. I know you need rain there in California.

Oh goodness Sheri, I'm so glad you are safe. When a tree falls it can be quite dangerous. You have had so much rain it has nowhere to go! Please stay safe and thank goodness for watchful neighbors! ♥

Good evening Sheri, oh I am so pleased to hear that you are alright and that your cars were not struck by the tree which fell during the storm.
I had heard on the BBC news that California was experiencing some very bad weather, but I hadn't realised the extent of the storm.
I hope the rain doesn't last too long.
Thinking of you.
With warmest wishes.

Sheri, I am praying your rains stop or slow way down...once the grounds are saturated it is dangerous. Trees with dying or shallow roots due to draught conditions will fall over when the ground is soaked through. Please be safe. I saw a smidge of sunshine today. :):) Blessings to you my friend, love, xoxo, Susie

Yep, welcome to my world....we have trees come down ALL the time in spring and even summer from the torrential rains that soak up the ground so badly that these trees just can't take the saturation. But I'm so glad you are SAFE and that no one was hurt! Oh dear one, so glad to hear the drought is lifting, but now, let's pray that there are no more damages.

Oh my, what a storm Sheri. I am so glad your cars and house are alright, it could have been much worse. That is a big tree to fall over like that. Be safe, and keep dry!

I hear that there is another one on the way, probably tonight and unto Monday.

Tale care and stay warm.

I hope you and your neighbors not to suffer damages.

That is exactly what happened to us many years ago. The tree missed out car by less than a foot!

You have been in the midst of some crazy weather Sheri! Talk about extremes, but this rain is much needed and will subside. Stay safe!

I am so happy California is receiving rain.
I do know that challenges come with that, yet it is such a blessing for you. I bet all the lakes, ponds and streams are happy!
I am glad you are safe.

We have been having our share of rain in Nashville Tn. and if its not rainy its gray and yucky looking. Its so wild that the tree was up rooted like that.

Wow! Thank goodness no one was hurt. We've had so much snow and ice lately that we've lost the tops of several of our tall trees and lost a few of our privacy hedge trees, with several still leaning which we'll probably also lose. We took a walk through a nearby park this weekend and saw just how many of the tall, old evergreens came down in the past 2 storms. It looks like a bomb went off. Sounds like they are getting massive rain and flooding in parts of the US. Stay safe and cozy!

Wow. I am so grateful you (and the car and the house) are OK. I've been thinking about the California friends and hoping that while this helps alleviate drought, that it doesn't bring a lot more challenging problems to you path. Stay cozy and if you are driving be very careful of puddles -- they may be deeper than you think.

Always Sad when a Grand Old Tree bites the dust in a storm, but glad nobody was hurt when it fell. My Brother lives in Cali and has been pumping water out of their Home for days now! Even here in Arizona it's become soggy and colder and we rarely have such continuous wetness in the Desert! The Wildflower Season will be spectacular this Spring tho' and the Desert is so thirsty it is Loving it! Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
