Morning At The Book Store

I spent the morning at the book store this week.

Book stores always remind me of Nel and Jess, who are book lovers and are both teachers.  Ever since I can remember, Nel has loved books, and has been swept away in her imagination into a different time and place.

She even has a study of wall to wall books in her home.

I actually went to Barnes and Noble to look at the Christmas cards.  They have the cutest ones.  I know it's a bit early, but I wanted to get some before they were all picked over.  I thought these were cute, but not Christmassy enough for me.

I often go into the coffee shop there and buy one of their Yummy cupcakes to take home.

It's been awhile since I read a good book.  With Jess' wedding and moving, it's been hectic and I haven't got a chance to read lately.  My favorite are children's books, and I sometimes buy Jess a children's book to read to her class, as she's an elementary teacher.

I must get back to reading!

Sheri, I hope you can find a wonderful book to read. My daughters all love books. I think all but Liz still finds time to read. But she will be reading children's books to the grandkids. I saw a huge pile at her living room last time I was there. I love visiting book stores and a cup of something to drink makes it even more special. Blessings to you, love, xoxo,Susie

Sounds like a relaxing and enjoyable morning at the bookstore. With the season changing, it's a good time to collect some books to read. A reward of a cupcake is a good idea! Wishing you a wonderful afternoon. Mildred

I think they should just give me a bed in the back room at the book store. So many books, so many I love. I like to buy books. I know I should use the library more but I just love to have them. And now bookstores are so welcoming with cafes and comfy chairs. A good place to be!

Sheri, my daughter is a huge book lover as well. I used to read to my children and now that continues with them. I've always thought if you can read you can do anything. Do you have a local library? Or do you use a Kindle? I'm glad you now have more time to read. Books are such a wonderful get away. ♥

I always enjoy visiting book stores ...

I did get a few packs of Christmas cards recently and also bought my first few presents.

Happy reading and all good wishes for this month of November.
The year seems to have passed so quickly.

All the best Jan

The Christmas card is so adorable. I think I prefer the non-christmassy look. You're also making me want a delicious cupcake right now.

What a nice way to spend a morning. I haven't been to a book store in a while. I do love to visit the local library. I have known the librarians so long, that it's like visiting old friends.

Hi,
I would love to come along with you. Book stores are a favorite place of mine.
I have not had time to read as much as I like as well. I plan to work on this and try to carve out reading time in my schedule. I miss it.

Oh, how I miss Barnes and Noble! I think you should get lost in a good book soon. Nel just bought me a Barnes and Noble gift card for my birthday, and I loved picking one out. :-)

I haven't been to Barnes and Noble in almost a year, but I found it very peaceful in there. It sounds like you had a nice time in the bookstore and the cupcake looks delicious! Happy Reading!

The pretty and sweet Christmas card that you shared just reminded me of some handmade treasures that I just purchased from Celestina. I am feeling very nostalgic these days, I suppose it is the time of the year.
On another note, reading is such a lovely way to travel without even leaving home, my problem is that it always makes me sleepy.
Enjoy your quiet time, and wishes to you for a beautiful new week.
Love,
Jemma

Dear Sheri,

Always lovely to find the time to sit down quietly and read a good book. Nice to look around a book store and see what book catches your eye.
Hope you are having a lovely week

I must get back to reading too and your post has encouraged me. I just sort of forgotten that habit after having kids. Great idea to stock on Christmas cards this early to get the good ones. I always feel happy reading your posts Sheri, your writing is warm and close to the heart.
