A Helping Hand

I was in the town next over to mine.  I love this town, as it has rolling hills and is pretty, making it a great place to take photos.  I was at the park enjoying my morning coffee.  A man gets into his car with his BIG dog, and tries to start his car.  It wouldn't start.  He tried many times after that, and I was getting ready to see if I could help.  He must have tried to start it 30 times, but nothing....dead.  I saw a city worker and thought he might have jumper cables to help this man.  I got out of my car to ask him, and if he didn't have any, I was going to use my own.  The minute I stepped out of my car and asked the city worker if he had jumper cables, the man's car started up.  We both smiled and went on our way.

We are all called to help others.  There are some people who don't want to be bothered.  You've heard the familiar sayings before,

I'm too busy
I don't want to get involved
It won't do any good
I've got too much going on myself

No one wants to get involved in a messy situation, but we must always help others when we can.  Someday we may find ourselves in a messy situation and may need the help of others as well.

End of the Summer photos.

thank you to my brother for helping,
and to Nel for trying.

The roses are lovely. Wonderful to snip off a bloom to bring inside. And you have some good ideas for helping others. It's hard sometimes to know what to do or how to help but we need to give it a try! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Diane

Sheri, It is good to have family that is so willing to help us in our times of need. It feels good to help others, especially if they acknowledge your effort with a thank you. I loved your summer pictures. Do you feel that summer is waning? There a festival where my daughter lives....it's this weekend, it's called End Of Summer fest. My daughter has invited us along with her family. I don't think I am going as it will be so hot again on Sunday...plus I just can't walk long times like I once could. I need to stay in shape to help Ted with the deck. Wishing you a great day there. Blessings, love, xoxo, Susie

What a beautiful post, my friend. It is truly a blessing and joy to help others and yes, I believe we are indeed called to do so.

Your roses are magnificent! And the bird in the tree is quite the little lovely.

Hugs and much love to you, Sheri!

My favourite has to be the little bird in the tree.

I always do my best to help people, surely that is the right thing to do!

Enjoy this last week of August - I really don't know where the days go - they fly by so quickly

All the best Jan

What a lovely post, dear Sheri. We all need to help our fellow man. The Golden Rule comes to mind when I was reading this post. What a better world we would have if we all practiced it.
I love your photos! Each one is beautiful. The rabbit is amazing with his large ears listening for danger. Of course, your roses always make me smile. ♥

Beautiful pictures, you missed your calling.

I like to help people if I can. Today while at Walmart, at the checkout counter. The lady in front of me dropped 40.00 on the floor and I went to pick it up, but she was no where to be seen. The floor manager came over asked if she could help, well I didn't want the money to fall into the wrong hands, I gave her a description of the lady and out the door she went. Couldn't find her when suddenly she appeared and I said I found your money and the manager has it. She was so happy to get it back. I felt so good that she got her money.

You are a good person Sheri and I wouldn't expect any less of you to offer help. So keep on being good. you make up for all the people who just don't care.

Have a great weekend

Hugs,
Mary

It's like that commercial that used to run, can't remember what it was for but one person helped another and that person helped the next one, and so forth.

Sheri, your rabbit photo is spectacular! The sun shining through his ears, remarkable!

I think that red rose is sheer perfection, and those bunny ears in the last picture are quite hysterical! All your photos today made me smile :). See? ;)

Yes, we do need to help each other, because for certain no one gets through life unscathed, and what goes around comes around.

Love your story of lending a 'helping hand', Sheri. Sometimes the opportunities present themselves and we need to 'step up' when we can. It makes us feel so good when we can help someone out and hopefully the kindness will be passed along. I once gave a long ride home to a 'Mom to be' and her toddler that were broke down on the side of the road. There was no way I could pass by.......I was late for work, but it was worth it to know they were safe. Love your photos of late summer. Squirrels always make me laugh with their antics. Wishing you a lovely weekend. Hugs xo Karen

Dearest Sheri, HELLO! That hare, MY GOODNESS that is a good photo! You have the dessert hares in your area...not here. We have the Eastern cottontails and in the winter, you should see how short their ears are, to conserve energy! Your roses are lush and most of all, your heart. It is generous and beautiful.

A perfect message Sheri, one we all should remember. And wonderful photos, flowers and animals alike, all remind us of Summer.

Incredibly gorgeous roses and I love the animals, too. Your post made me think about the rescuers and neighbors in Italy helping the earthquake victims.

It makes our day when we manage to help someone in need. Your flowers and animals don't seem to need any help; they look awsome.

Good evening Sheri,
You were so kind to help, Sheri. One should never be too busy to offer a helping hand, just as you did.
I love your end of summer photos! This is the second time today I have read those words, and I think to myself, where did this year go?

Blessings,
Penny

Good morning dear friend! Thank you for coming to visit me on my blog. Yes, those childhood friends are extremely special, because it's like turning a page backwards in your favorite story. I thought it was just ME, but I think many of us who had special or at least "normal" childhoods often want to just get one more glimpse of a moment, and it's in the eyes of those old friends where we can get the best view of our pasts. I hope your girlfriend that is having trouble with her eyes will be blessed to see more with her soul. I am preparing myself for that event since my eyes are changing on me, and I fear what may come. BLESS YOU!
