Our Lake Is Filling Up

Me and my son wanted to see how filled the lake is since it rained a lot this winter.  The last time we visited it was the lowest we've ever seen it.

This is what it looks like now.  It's still not filled up all the way, but it's getting there.

Then, we took a drive over to Folsom Bridge to see what it looked like.

We had lunch at a restaurant over looking the bridge.   We shared a Mediterranean pizza with feta cheese and Greek olives, Yummy.

After that we drove over to the town of Folsom.  I love this building, and it's the color that I'm so fond of right now, mint.

Stopped to get some chocolate and go to a few of my favorite shops.

It was a fun day with my son.

It's raining hard this weekend,
and our lake is filling
up even more.

What a delightful day with your son!

Oh that pizza!!!!!

Love the old hotel! I take it, the main street of this place, is into preserving old architecture....

Folsom, is that the general site of the (made famous in song) prison? :-))))

Sheri,
Wonderful news and photos of the lake filling up with water. Very nice outing you and your son enjoyed. Do I spot artichokes on that pizza? YUM. You know what Sheri - Dorothea's Shoppe sign is just so adorable and happy I would have to go into her shop and purchase something and hopefully her bags are printed with her shops sign too. I always enjoy your photo essays my friend. Have a lovely week ahead.

Vera

I love that mint color too and it would be wonderful to see all the lakes that have been low get back to normal. A few hours away with one grown child at a time mean so very much. We get too busy for that sometimes but it is well worth it.

And I hope, overflowing.

Dearest Sheri, what a gorgeous day to spend with YOUR SON. The quaint town....we did that yesterday too, on our anniversary. The simplicity of it all was so celebratory. I saw my horses, got good photos, I was happy. Be well, be happy, and let your cup runneth over.

Hiya Sheri,

It's wonderful to see the lake filling up. You guys have had some rain as we have. In fact, reports say it's been the wettest winter on record here in Oregon. Thanks for the share of your lovely lake, the town pics (esp that pizza, oh how I miss pizza!), and always, your good reads!

Have a great week ahead!

Love that old hotel! Glad to know you're getting the rain you need. I do believe our drought in Oregon is over, now if only the Bay Area would get what they need. Happy March and Spring to you!

It's a nice landscape which you are showing to us - I love water very much and it's good that the lake is being refilled now! From time to time I am also having a mother/daughter day. I think it's important to keep the connection and the bond between us. Besides it's always a great pleasure :).
Enjoy your time with the kids,

Hurray for the water! Last summer it was a crazy rocky drive down to the water to swim in Folsom Lake. I haven't been to Old Folsom in so long. My mom used to take us to see the Indian Grinding Rocks and shop in the Indian Store that had beads and tons of cats.

I'm so glad California is finally getting rain again. My aunt that lives in Newport Beach was worried she'd lose her entire garden and I know she wasn't the only one.

That's a darling little town :)
