The Oscars

Did you watch The Oscars last night?  We were so glad that Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Actor.  The Revenant was an awesome movie, and he did an amazing job in it.  Besides, we just love Leo.

Do you know that Nel lived in Hollywood for six years?

She was in her 20's, and she saw a few stars while living there.  She lived a few blocks down from the theatre where they hold The Oscars.  Every year around Oscar season, they close the streets down to get ready for the awards.  A couple times Nel and her husband walked down that way to see if they could spot any stars.  We like to watch The Oscars each year to see the fashion.

Here's a picture of Nel getting ready to go out on the town with her friends in Hollywood.

Those were sure memorable years for her, and she'll look back on the years spent in Hollywood fondly.

I had some fun years going to Hollywood when I had stars in my eyes. I danced and acted and I'd go to dance class in West Hollywood and dream, dream, dream. What a time of life. And what a beauty Nel is!

I didn't see the Oscars, but I MUST SEE The Revenant. How are you dear heart?

I want to see The Revenant now too. I saw a portion of the Oscars. I didn't hear if Helen Miran won anything? I loved her in Woman Of Gold.

I posted the Oscar win for Leo the moment her excepted. I could not have been more happier for him that his own mother was.
Well deserved and many oscars too late so to speak.
We love him here as well, we see every movie he is in.... My grandfather was an art producer for Paramount Movie Picture Studios in Hollywood, it was not uncommon for us growing up to see stars on location. I could go on and on about stars that had a very close connection to my grandfather. Your Nel a beautiful star herself....and I am sure her memories will be life lasting.

See you soon,
I am off to read some of your older postings.

Just me... But.... I never watch the Oscars. But usually like to see the Red Carpet fashions, the next day.

This years total Oscars event, was tainted for me, by all the race screaming, which began well before the event.

Good grief! Now we have to have racial quotas, when giving out awards, for acting?!?!?

And saw a quick newspaper headline... About Al Sharpton lead a screaming protest, there. Anyone remember the Tawana Brawley rape case? And his part in that fiasco? Read it here..... If you weren't old enough, to read it then.

Sheri, We went to Hollywood once and walked around looking at the stars on the walk and the Chinese theater imprints. We went inside the Doby theater. It was an unbelievable trip for a small town person like me to see all that grandeur. We were at the Hollywood bowl and our trip organizer sang on the stage...just to all of us. We toured Warner Brothers' studios.Beverly Hills, all of L.A. Like Nel, I will always remember that one week...she had six beautiful years. She is a movie star looking girl herself. You must be so proud of your children. Bless you, Love, Susie

Six years in Hollywood - what a great time you must have had, Nel. I like that shot of Leonardo, very majestic in a huge fur. A fun post for the Oscars.
