A Wonderful Three Days

We had a very nice Christmas.  We spent three days at Jess' house, and she welcomed us, made us feel at home, made lots of goodies to eat, and showed us a wonderful time.  I have to say, we did many different things during the whole time, which made it so interesting for all of us.  When we first got there, she had a spread of goodies.  Nel and her made a cheese fondue for dinner with different sides to dip in the hot cheese sauce.  We went to the children's mass on Christmas Eve, and when we first arrived at the church, there was a rainbow in the sky.  The church was so beautiful with the children dressed up in their costumes for the nativity scene.   After mass, we drove to another town and saw the harbor lights.  The masts are all lit up on the sail boats, and it was such a pretty sight.  One of the houses in town had a lit up Eiffel Tower as a decoration.  We watched the movie "Frozen," and Nel couldn't stop laughing at Olaf dreaming of summer days.  We played a silly game, which was fun.  We opened presents on Christmas morning, and I'll show you the red scarf that Nel got Jess.  The fabric has red roses on it, so pretty.  I bought Jess a snow globe of a bride and groom, as she is engaged.  In the afternoon, we took a drive to see the redwoods.  The kids wanted to get some exercise and take a hike in the woods.  We stayed up late watching shows, and the next day we drove home.  It was a nice Christmas, and Jess made it special for everyone.

The new year is upon us,
I do hope it's a
good one for me and you.

What a delight to see you here. To see through your eyes the lights of the season! That scarf is truly YOU ALL! The red roses are magnificent, and the harbor all lit up...what a scene! There is so much richness in your musings today that takes me back to one particular Christmas, not long ago, when I visited my family. As I watched the elders gathering around the outer ring of the dinner table, and we who were once children were in the center watched the younger ones in the middle of this ring of generations....life goes on.

Dearest Sheri, I wish you and yours a PERFECTLY happy 2016. You are a dear to me, and I wish you the best. Missing you...

Sheri I seem to always lose myself in wonderment through your gorgeous photography. Sounds like 3 days of magical memories. A rainbow and the children dressed for the live nativity church scene are magical enough but seeing the lights on the sailboat masts is a sight that would stay with me, beauty and reflection in the water. How adorable that you found a snow globe with a bridge and groom, precious. The Red Rose scarf is gorgeous.

Enjoy your countdown to 2016 this week, I'm enjoying quiet reflection.

Vera
