November Showers

It rained here in
California
the last few days!

As you know, we have been in desperate need of rain, so when I heard the sound of the rain on my roof and opened the drapes and saw the rain pour down on my roses, I was overjoyed.  It's going to be so good for our plants and crops.  I hear there's much more coming this winter.

Today sounds like a good day for oatmeal.  My mom used to make us oatmeal often when I was growing up, but she made it plain without any goodies in it.  I put pecans or bananas or blueberries in mine.

Thank you for the rain,
Lord.
California is smiling now.

I'm so happy for you. We got a nice little shower last night and saw a double rainbow! And I had oatmeal this morning with blueberries. (I chop up a little bit of apple in mine while it is cooking too, have you tried that?) Hugs, Diane

Sheri, I was happy to hear that you got rain. It's nice to know places that needed it got some. We will be having rain this Friday. Poor Texas...they are having too much at one time. Whenever I pick oatmeal at one of our classmate brunches I will say," Oh, just like mommy used to make." Then someone says," oh it is that good?", and I have to say,"no it's that lumpy !" LOL Yours sounds much better than my mothers. Blessing, love, Susie

God is amazing, I am so glad you got some much needed rain! I love the rain, the fresh smell of the air, the sound of the rain on an umbrella, roof or window. And, of course, we cannot have a rainbow without the rain! :)

I love that feeling of receiving from Nature what I need...
We had October showers and entered November the same way. We still have lovely sun - here and there - so it balances things pretty nicely for a Rain Lover like me.
Hope all is well with you and your delightful girls and handsome men.
Love,
T

I'm so glad you received rain, Sheri! Doesn't everything look refreshed after rain? I know your roses are happy for that wonderful drink of water. My plants love the rain so much more than the water from the hoses. Enjoy your happy roses! ♥

All we got was a little misting that made everything dirty. I was so hoping that we would get some. It rained all around us, but no rain here in Fullerton.
Have a great week.

Mary

Hi Sheri,
I am so happy you were blessed with some much needed rain.. I think it passed us by this time.. Raining all around in surrounding areas, but not here. Weatherman said it is traveling south.. It has cooled waaaaaaaaay down... Nights are actually cold, which is such a nice change from this horrid heat.

How funny.. My mom always made us oatmeal for breakfast.. She would save the large round containers and I would cut away and make a cradle for my dolls.
Every time I make oatmeal I think of mom... Thank you for sparking a memory.

Enjoy your week Sheri,
blessings,
Penny

Hi Sheri,

So glad you had your much needed rain - isn't that the best hearing it rain when you need it.
Yesterday I had electricians who were booked in to come and put in some outdoor lights - we had rain, so they cancelled until Monday.
It is sunny and fine today.
Hope you are enjoying the week
hugs

Sheri I am sure the sound of the rain falling was like angels singing. I smiled when I read your post and understand how much California needs rain. You had rain and in Philadelphia today was 76 degrees!

Hi Sheri, thank you for visiting me . I had a wonderful birthday last monday with my family . I amso aware of all the positive changes from the last two years , since I got my first new hip november 5 .
This year I was able to do all the things before my day , MYSELF again .
Ordening , cleaning , window cleaning , shopping and baking and I was SO SO SO VERY HAPPY AND THANKFUL for being able to do that .
I have grown so much in being myself .
to do the ordinary things is for me very special.
I love my life , I am allowed to be home . I have all the time of the world .
My children are doing so well and I am a grandmother .
Next sunday-afternoon I celebrate my birthday with my best (girl)-friends .
I do that for the 13th time now . I invite them and I have a theme with a question and when we meet at my home we tell about it , our own experience .
each one of us tells about it and we all listen to what the others tell.
This year I was in the here and now . sometimes realising how my past was and above all very much in the present . And for the first time open to the future . No more worries ....... No more pain ...... Joy and happiness .
Mu theme is PAST-PRESENT-FUTURE .I asked to share with us something about how they experienced their past , the present and how they look at the future . I asked them to take a symbol for all three and show that with their stories .
They are MY friends and at first some of them did not know each-other.
Now they meet once a year at my house . Just us .
Its personal and we respect each-other.
Its my most precious afternoon of my year . Sharing and listening .
I am not the only one who appreciates this . They all are looking forward to it. Wishing you a warm autumn in your house with your loved-ones .

So pleased you have some rain, Sheri. I know there were bad bushfires in California. I have oats every morning and love it, usually with apple. You have to have the fruit! Happy weekend xox

Hallelujah!! I'm so glad you received the much needed rain there Sheri. It's been terrible what you all have got through these last few months.

I just had some oatmeal. It's what I have almost every morning in the winter. In the summer I typically have granola with blueberries or bananas, but somehow the oatmeal seems more appropriate now that the temps are dropping.

Oh yes, the blessed rain!! I saw the most beautiful rainbow from my window this morning. It was the end of the rainbow and lingered for 20 minutes. Now that must be good luck, right?
Beautiful post, Sheri!
