Polish Festival

I went to the Polish Festival last weekend with my brother.  I had a lot of fun, and it was nice to experience some of their traditions, as I am part Polish on my father's side.

We browsed through the booths, and then got in line to get a yummy Polish sausage.

After, we went upstairs for the desserts, and I bought some jelly-filled cookies, which were very good.  Later, we listened to the band that played an assortment of upbeat Polish songs.

They even sold sausages that you could take home and cook yourself.

It was a festive day, and I just might go again next year.

My best friend is Polish, did you know?
Looks like you had lots of fun. I wish we had these kind of festivals going on now.
We have one, but in a smaller scale, around Christmas and I always have so much fun enjoying their folklore and traditions.
Thank you for sharing,
Teresa

Hi Sheri,
Poland is not too far away from us but I have never been there so far. Warschau and Krakau are told to be very pretty cities, perhaps one day I'll visit it :). Nice to hear that part of you comes from there! The Polish festival looks very nice and it seems that you had a lot of fun and food :)!
Have a nice week,
Barbara

GOod morning sweet Sheri! Aren't these festivals fun!!!!! We just had a Greek festival here and there is also a huge Polish community near us that celebrates in town. Summer is lingering on and I hope you are far, far away from all those dreadful fires happening? Be well my sweet friend, and PLEASE try to call me again....my hours after school however, change. Sometimes I stay really late and sometimes I try to get out by 4:30. Let me know when we can chat.

LOVE!

Good Morning Dear Sheri,
You are so blessed to have family so close to you. I didn't know that your brother lived nearby.
It looks like you had a fun and fabulous day, and I know your weather has been warm, but you have such lovely evenings.
I'll be traveling to be with Amanda this coming Monday, and we are all anxiously anticipating little Averys birth!
Thinking of you dear Sheri and sending love.
Jemma

LOL! I never knew they made a Polish Barbie! How sweet. Ad I am not a fan of polish sausage - or any sausage for that matter. I simply am not crazy about meat for some weird reason. I can eat an occasional kid sized hamburger or chicken strip - but that's pretty much it. And the men around here would eat all meat if you let them. It's funny how opposite we are.

Hello dear Sheri,
I hope you are having a good start to the new season, and a Polish festival with delicious, hearty foods sounds fantastic! Has it cooled down where you are?
The foods are very similar to my culture as well...did they have sauerkraut?
My blogging continues to be very irregular, but I love and miss my blog friends...think of you often.
Have a wonderful weekend... :)
Much love,

I did not know you had Polish origin .... The Poles, like the Bulgarians belong to the ancient Slavic peoples. They write in Latin letters, but we can understand when we talk ...
He had a very interesting and pleasant day, dear Sheri!

Festivals are so much fun! Sometimes there are foods that simply can't be found anywhere else. We went to one last week, and it was a polish festival too. My husband is a certified sausage addict, and proud of it, so he was in hog heaven!
