School Bells, School Days

Did school start already?  I saw the school buses the other day and started thinking about those first days of school.  This is a picture of my old high school.  Can you believe I went here and my father went here too?

I remember going to the cafeteria for lunch, and we all bought the yummy burritos they served.  They were soooo good.

The football games on Friday nights.

During Football season, you could buy a BIG MUM for a friend or someone special you knew.  You pinned them on your clothes, and could admire them all day.

Studying, learning, meeting new friends, school bells, and school days.  I wish that the young kids have a very good start to the new school year.

Were your school days
fun or not so fun?

No school here yet, later this month. HS was a great time, although I played only 2 sports, golf and tennis, Friday night football nights were the best, especially the after parties and get-togethers at Bob's Bigboy and In n Out burgers. Lotta people, lotta fun. Classes were'nt so bad either, especially typing, all the girls! Teehee :0)

What a cutie you were!!!

No school here, yet. It doesn't start till after Labor Day.

I feel sorry for the kids, who have to go already. Before the "official" end of summer, even! ,-)

School doesn't begin here until after Labor Day, Sheri. My grandson who lives with us started back to college last week though. Adorable photo of you in High School! I love the bell photo, also. Enjoy your day. ♥

Oh my goodness, how did I miss this??? Wait....I think it's because I ran out the house this morning for SCHOOL! Oh Sheri, good evening my friend! I love that photo of you and yes, my school days were AWESOME. My academic life could have been more directed and enriched, but did I have FUN. Thank you for visiting my post tonight. Yes, school started for me today with our first staff meeting, then tomorrow a district meeting planning for Open House and then more work ahead. I wish we could have spoken again on the phone.....I hope you still want to? I wished that the day we finally connected would have worked out for us, and please let me know about any weekend you'd be available. I want to HEAR YOUR EYES.

Much love to you loyal and kind friend. Anita

That is a gorgeous photo of the young Sheri - so stylish and attractive. School days were mostly fun for me, though occasionally tinged with anxieties of various kinds. I actually enjoyed University as an adult student much more that school as a kid. Have a nice week, Sheri. xox

Sweet memories, Sheri dear, and you were such a darling and your pretty long hair too. I have very fond memories of my school days and my Father, beloved sister and I went to the same school. My 9 and 5 year old granddaughters started back to school on Monday, they were very excited. They will both be spending Friday night with us, so I am looking forward to hearing all about their school days! I enjoy Fall so much and all of the traditions that begin with the season!
Wishing you a lovely week, dear Sheri,
Love,
Jemma

Oh, weren't you just precious, dear Sheri! This brings back wonderful memories of those happy school days. I can practically hear the bells ringing and the crowds on Saturday at the football games. I loved school and all the fun activities and met my Mr. in high school. I was a cheerleader and one year our team made the championship! Go Panthers! Thanks for the memories....xo Karen

Oh Sheri--what a darling photo of you. How special to have gone to the same school as your dad. I must ask--where is this? Loomis, lincoln? As you know, you live in my old stomping grounds. I always love checking in to see where you are journeying next. School...I'm back at it with my new school year as a school psychologist. It's been so busy I don't even know how I will balance blogging and work--but I will always come back to say hello. I loved seeing you-in your school life. You are a doll...
Thanks for always sharing the love,
xx, Heather

Awwwwwwww, you were (are) so adorable! Elementary days were very, very happy; middle school, no. High school was half and half. Same with college. I like this stage of life better. Susan p.s. Sheri, thanks for your visits! They make me happy, too!

In Bulgaria the first day of school is September, 15. I remember only pleasant moments of my school days, but I think as all people - appreciate those years when they passed irrevocably ... why people do not have the wisdom to enjoy the moment, not regret the past and not to dream about distant days ....

*Sobs* ... we have Luca starting on Thursday :-( He only had his fourth birthday last week. I am a little nervous as he is going to be the youngest child in his year group. Too early in my opinion. I much prefer the Scandinavian model for education where the kids start much later.

Can't say as I was a big fan of school - I was very quiet (in those days lol!) and not at all sporty. I enjoyed my University years much more.

Not a fan of school here. Well, when I showed up anyway. I wasn't a model student LOL

I loved those deep friend burritos too though :)

You look so much like your girls! Beautiful.
