Light For The New Year

As I was playing around with this picture, I didn't really like any of the settings, so I deleted them and went on to the next.   The last time I deleted the setting, this showed up on my screen.  Don't know how it got there, but it was just what I was looking for.

Wishing you light and love
in the new year.

Purple Tea Cup and Ornament Of Love

This is the tea cup
Jess got me
for Christmas.

It came out blue in
the pictures,
but it's really purple.

She also got me
some chocolate vanilla
tea.  Sounds good,
huh?

And Nel got me this
pretty ornament.
Isn't this such a special word?

Have a delightful week,
friends.

A Wonderful Three Days

We had a very nice Christmas.  We spent three days at Jess' house, and she welcomed us, made us feel at home, made lots of goodies to eat, and showed us a wonderful time.  I have to say, we did many different things during the whole time, which made it so interesting for all of us.  When we first got there, she had a spread of goodies.  Nel and her made a cheese fondue for dinner with different sides to dip in the hot cheese sauce.  We went to the children's mass on Christmas Eve, and when we first arrived at the church, there was a rainbow in the sky.  The church was so beautiful with the children dressed up in their costumes for the nativity scene.   After mass, we drove to another town and saw the harbor lights.  The masts are all lit up on the sail boats, and it was such a pretty sight.  One of the houses in town had a lit up Eiffel Tower as a decoration.  We watched the movie "Frozen," and Nel couldn't stop laughing at Olaf dreaming of summer days.  We played a silly game, which was fun.  We opened presents on Christmas morning, and I'll show you the red scarf that Nel got Jess.  The fabric has red roses on it, so pretty.  I bought Jess a snow globe of a bride and groom, as she is engaged.  In the afternoon, we took a drive to see the redwoods.  The kids wanted to get some exercise and take a hike in the woods.  We stayed up late watching shows, and the next day we drove home.  It was a nice Christmas, and Jess made it special for everyone.

The new year is upon us,
I do hope it's a
good one for me and you.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

It's Winter Break!!

Teaching has kept me so busy that I don't feel like I've been able to fully enjoy the Christmas season.

So, I'm doing that now.

One of my students gave me the most creative gift: a mason jar filled with Sharpies and topped with Kisses and a Starbucks card.

Speaking of gifts, I did almost all of my Christmas shopping on Saturday.

Yes...I know I'm behind, but I'm still amazed at how smooth my shopping day was and how I was able to find almost everything I was looking for, considering it was the last Saturday before Christmas!

Hmm...I wonder who this gift is for ;-)

I've been busy catching up on wrapping gifts, listening to holiday music, and sprucing up my home with seasonal decor.

This year, I made myself a mini flamingo tree.

Have I mentioned how much I love these birds?

It feels good to have a little break and enjoy the season!

Are you ready for Christmas?
