Summer Road Trip to NOLA Continued

There's just something about this city that steals my heart away.

New Orleans, Louisiana!

We stayed on Royal Street, which is known as the most beautiful street in the French Quarter.

(Traveling Teddy seemed to enjoy Royal Street as well ;-)

Our temporary home, Hotel Royal, is worth mentioning.

It was newly renovated, very charming, and centrally located with employees that were the very definition of 'southern hospitality'.

One of my favorite parts was our picturesque courtyard.

Upon settling in, we met up with Nel and her husband and indulged ourselves in all things New Orleans:

Good eats,

lively music,

jazzy culture,

amazing architecture,

and southern nature.

We even found some time to kick up our feet and relax because after all,

we were on vacation,

and sometimes relaxation is all you need in life.

We can surely say, "We know what it means to miss New Orleans..."

Until we meet again,
you jazzy city, you.

Hi Girls, Your photos are wonderful. I think New Orleans look a bit Frenchy....maybe that is why women love it. The men go for the food and entertainment. LOL. Of course that food looked so yummy. I like the clean looking room. :):) That is the mommy in me. LOL. Blessings to all of you and your sweet mom, xoxo,Susie

WHOAH....that man feeding the gator! NO WAY!

But what a great place to visit; it's as if you stepped into a movie or a novel...it seems surreal!

ENJOY! Anita

Ah the French Quarter!! I want to visit there someday. Love that building in the 3rd pic. And that guy feeding the alligator looks like he's gonna lose a hand!

I LOVED that first picture when I first saw it in our picture file, but I didn't know it was from New Orleans. I even put it in my travel folder before you posted it. And I loved the alligator pictures.

hehehe Teddy looks like he fits right in. :~)

Your photos are lovely and have really captured the essence of New Orleans! I had the amazing experience of staying quite near to where you stayed in a private apt. that was generously lent to us for a week. It was a wonderful experience - the food, the beautiful courtyards, the lovely architecture - you have captured it all. Don't you wish you could stay? I enjoyed this lovely post. xo Karen

Wonderful pictures, thank you for sharing this beautiful city. It is great to see that New Orleans is looking as lovely as ever, after the terrible time with Katrina.

Lovely photos of such interesting city. The alligator doesn't look dangerous. Unlike our crocs down here in OZ. have a good holiday.

What a wonderful post! I really enjoyed following along with you. Fabulous photos and I especially like the first image taken at an angle with those gorgeous shutters. I find the French influence so appealing and I'd love to try jambalaya. A fascinating place which has so much to offer.

Dearest Sheri, GOOD MORNING! Happy fourth to you dear friend, and I wish you a great BBQ and view of the lights up in the sky. We are going to a friend's home and having a BBQ as well, and we might go on his boat on the Mississippi River, but I think with the ban of boats on the river this year, due to elevated water levels, we may stay ashore!

THANK YOU FOR COMING BY! Anita
