A Precious Winter Day

There were no
birds singing

There were no
flowers blooming

The trees were
bare on this
cold, dreary morning.

I was sipping on
my morning coffee.

I asked God,
"please bring me
one of your beautiful
creatures so I
can take a picture
of it."

A short while later,
to my surprise,
a hummingbird appears
right in front of me.

It's such a small bird,
yet brings BIG
smiles every time
I see it,
especially that day.

The hummingbird,
a perfect gift.

Love your sweet little Humming bird. I would love him to come and sit & sing in my trees, I've never seen one they're not common to my area.
I hope you'll see lots of other beautiful creatures where you live.
Enjoy your week.

An answer with wings....God does the most miraculous things my friend. This has happened to me many times and I still don't know how to write about it, but you did a beautiful job of it right now. MUCH LOVE TO YOU!

We have loving, caring, listening Father, who gives us gifts just when we need it.
What a lovely bird!
I sometimes whisper to God: please give me some little thing, that shows me You are just now beside me. And then there might be just a tiny light on the sky or a sound of bird telling me: I´m here. Our God is amazing!!
Blessings to you♥

I love hummingbirds! They are so cute and I saw them for the first time on my honeymoon trip many years ago in California. We stopped in a restaurant where there were many of them on the terrace "singing a song for us". It was sooo lovely and I did not know these birds until the owner told us. I have never forgotten them. Thanks for sharing this with us :).
Hugs, Barbara

Great pictures of the hummingbird. Have not seen any here in Texas as yet. Some usually winter here, but I think they went someplace else this winter. Thanks for visiting Timeless Treasures with a nice comment.

Sheri,

Don't you love answers from God right when you ask? Isn't He great and what He made beautiful? So encouraging!

How cool is that! God must have thought you needed to see one of his special creatures. I have seen a lot of Bluebirds of late and a Robin. They perch themselves upon my fence and I can watch them in the morning while drinking my coffee.

It is starting to get really nice here. The grass is starting to turn green and I've been digging in the dirt getting ready to plant some perennials in the next couple of weeks. The pollen count is starting to climb, Oak and Juniper. I've been seeing yellow pollen on everything.

I hope you have a great week Sheri and I'm glad Mr. Hummingbird came along to brighten your day!

Ohhhh I love this Sheri. What a serendipity from The Lord! You and I both have a love of birds. Those little hummingbirds are just amazing too. I remember seeing a program about them once ... Don't remember the details but I recall that their wings do a circle eight pattern at amazing speeds. I've got to clean out my bird feeder and get some fresh nectar in there. Thanks for the reminder.
