Meet Mr. Owl

While I was out
shopping last
weekend, I saw
these darling owls
in the store window.

I just had to
buy one, and take
him home with me.

Here's a side
view of him.

Now, he's there
to greet me every
time I walk in
the kitchen.

I saw an owl
up in the tree
I looked at him and
he looked at me.
I couldn't tell you
about his size
For all I saw were
two big eyes!

The store you bought him in looks full of vintage treasure. I wouldn't be able to pass him up either, so soft and fluffy with curious eyes.

Too cute.
Here owls are also back in fashion... you see them in fabrics, in home accesories but I haven't seen a cute one like yours. And something weird hit me when I arrived here as last night I dreamt of some white birds to decorate my Christmas Tree. And my birds - was it a bird? - looked like your owl - white, fluffy... Funny thing, indeed.
I love it and I hope he brings a smile out of you everytime you see it.

Did you know: "In early Indian folklore, Owls represent wisdom and helpfulness, and have powers of prophecy."?? There's always that theme surrounding you, Wise Soul.

Love,
Teresa

Good morning darling Sheri!

WOW did I have a long Thursday. Open House lasted until 8:30 last night and now I am so tired! This weekend will be a welcomed rest for me!

YES...owls are special to me. My mother had painted one months before she died. It was her FIRST ever oil painting that she did while taking her FIRST CLASS EVER. She and my dad started taking painting classes and while my dad's painting was very well-executed and realistic, my mom's had a child-like quality that made me love it so much. When I moved away to Massachusetts, I was not able to carry much with me, so I asked a cousin to keep it safe for me. Over the years, the painting was lost, and it broke my heart to know it would never be found. My darling friend Penny from Angelsdoor blog painted an owl for me and did a DARLING needle felted owl, and I have both pieces in my cabinet.

WELL, OFF to another day at school. MUCH LOVE to you my dear friend. Anita

What a cute little owl! Owls are appearing everywhere here in the UK on cushions, pendants, mugs, jumpers. I first saw this trend in Dubai over a year ago and wondered when the owls would be flying over here!! Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Sheri,
Such a darling little owl you chose and the poem is so perfect! Just recently I was going for my morning walk when I happened to look up into an old oak tree and see a beautiful owl looking down at me! It made my day!
Warm Hugs,
Jemma

What a hoot! Your owl is adorable, Sheri. My mother in law loved owls and could never pass one up. She used to have a little grouping of them around her T.V. We used to joke about how when she passed away if I heard a "hoot" that it was her communicating with me. Unfortunately, I've never heard the "hoot" and she passed away 5 years ago. I never can think of an owl without thinking of her...maybe that's better than hearing the "hoot" because whenever I hear or see an owl I think of her which is better than hearing a "hoot".
