Costumes And More Costumes

Me and Jess and her brother all went to old town Sacramento and hung out for the day.  We always love to stop at the best costume shop in the area, Evangeline's.  The costumes are so unique and fabulous.  Here are a few of them.

Love this section.

The mermaid section interested Jess, cause she wants to be a mermaid this year.

Here's Jess looking at all the Greek outfits and accessories.

They even had some fairies.

I think this was my favorite one of all this year.

It's such a fun place to visit, and we always enjoy browsing through their many isles of interesting costumes.

The Comforts of Fall

Autumn is officially upon us!

"Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year."
~Chad Sugg

Autumn is our favorite season here at
Red Rose Alley.

The falling leaves,

the festive decor,

the comfort food,

the season's holidays...

We love it all.

And we just can't seem to get enough pumpkin,

whether it be in our spiced lattes or our
 scented candles.

Happy Fall Y'all!

On This Havest Moon

It was a Harvest Moon this weekend...

And it's a particularly special time of year for my husband and I.

One year ago we were married! It was a joyous day for us both.

This weekend we celebrated our first year as husband and wife with a little taste of our Parisian honeymoon.

We made fondue and popped a bottle of champagne given to us by our kind friends as a wedding gift.

I ordered a decadent dessert in the flavor our favorite tier from our wedding cake--marble with amaretto filling and butter cream frosting...

...and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time!

It was a sweet celebration...

Because I'm still in love with you,
I want to see you dance again,
Because I'm still in love with you...

...on this Harvest Moon.

A New Couch

I bought a new couch for my living room!  I wanted something more elegant for this room, so I can sit and read, drink tea, and relax.

I've had this picture for awhile, and thought the colors went well with the couch.  It reminds me of my mom too.

I've always liked this little bird table at Pier 1 Imports, so I picked one up yesterday.

I love jewel frames and anything with jewels.

It's fun putting a room together.  That's all part of decorating.

Do you like to decorate too?

A Trip To Egypt

Years ago, my mom had a desire to do some traveling.  She just said one day, "I'm going to visit Egypt."  We were all a bit surprised because she was 70 years old.  She has always been interested in their culture and felt "connected" with it.  We were so happy she got to take this trip of a lifetime, and we were even more excited when she brought back gifts for us.

A pretty decorative box.

Some earrings with Egyptian symbols on them.

This is her having fun in the shops while looking for clothes and different accessories.

She rode the camels, ate delicious foods, and had a wonderful time.

Is there a place that you long to go to, and a place you just feel "connected" to?

A Peaceful View

California has some pretty lakes, and Lake Spaulding is one of them.

We used to have picnics here when the kids were small.

The biggest dandelions I've seen.

Lake Spaulding is a beautiful place to visit.
