From This Day Forward

33 years ago, I married the man of my dreams.

Joy filled our home, but through the years, the dream faded a bit.  The dream became a reality of parents' and brothers' deaths, children's struggles, financial burden in the early years, and broken hearts.

We managed to stay together through it
all, during the good times and the terrible times.  What I learned is that a great love doesn't always mean that nothing goes wrong, a great love can be when things DO go wrong, and you still have a great love.

These lyrics by Tanya Tucker have always been very special to me.

Like two sparrows in a hurricane
Trying to find their way
With a head full of dreams
And faith that can move anything
They've heard it's all uphill
But all they know is how they feel
The world says they'll never make it
Love says they will

Beautiful bride, beautiful words. Happy anniversary to you and your husband, my friend.
Love is not love without sacrifice and it typically endures through tests of fire. Unless it does so, how would one know it is truly love.
Much love to you both.

Happy Anniversary, Lovely Sheri and Handsome Husband.

P.S. Lovely photo Sheri! in a way time freezes that moment and all the emotions that abound in and within us. In the way that the illusions and happiness remains the same... forever. Enjoy your special day!

Happy anniversary to you and your husband. Marriage , it's the joining of two souls who are willing to tough it out. You give when he hurts and he gives back when you need it...together just give your love 100 percent...and that makes it work. Blessings Sheri. xoxo,Susie

I got married the first time 40 years ago this month..we did not do what you two have done and ours failed miserably..But I am happy to say I learned from my mistakes and this time around, my new husband of 16 years :-) and I stick together and weather the storms as a married couple...I love your post today....and congratulate you on your anniversary..

Happy Anniversary!

In this day of "throw away" everything, it is wonderful to see couples who stayed together and worked things out.

We have been married 42 years and of all our friends who married at the same time, we are the only ones still married.

Have a great day.

HELLO THERE MY FRIEND! Thank you for coming by! I am very well, thank you so much for asking. My tests came out negative which is a good thing. I have some more exams to finish in the next week, and I hope they will rule out any other concerns I have but so far, so good. I'll let you know what's going on once I hear.

You look so amazing in your wedding photo!! HUGS, Anita

Sheri, every word in your post is so true! You can't have good without bad or hard, no matter what. That is just not reality!, but some are willing to work at it and others are not strong enough to work through it, which is sad. Congratulations on your HUGE anniversary, it is so wonderful and I wish you so many more. Love your wedding picture, absolutely stunning!! Hugs my friend. Have a awesome weekend of celebration.

Dearest Sheri,
Happy 33rd Anniversary. You looked stunning as a young bride and of course, as we age and wear the markings of sorrow and grieve, we are not the same on the outside but very rich from the inside. Life's journey is not an easy one but together we can stand many a storm.
Tight hugs to you and sorry I'm one day behind. Yesterday I was not well after a terrible drive to Atlanta in heavy downpours. For 1-½ hour on the way over and also on the way back. Only the one remaining hour driving into Atlanta and the hour returning was with good weather. That did us good as we have here now over two months of terrible rains. Everything is soggy and muddy... creek is flooding and not much we can do. Even too dark to take decent photos.
Have a lovely weekend.
Hugs,
Mariette
