A Jewel of a Project

I found a great project idea on Pinterest a little while ago. It's a do-it-yourself jewelry wall!

My bracelets, necklaces, and earrings were scattered all over the house, so I thought this would be a fun and creative way to organize my pretty pieces.

For this project, you just need a few materials that can be easily purchased at your local Home Depot:
  • Wall hooks (any color or size you prefer)
  • Wooden rod (the sales associates can cut the longer rods to size for you)
  • Chicken wire (ask for the scraps from the larger rolls they cut down--just $0.51 for the three pieces I took home!)

I also picked up an antique-looking frame from Aaron Brothers and selected a few pretty sheets of card-stock I had tucked away in my craft bin.

Just take out the glass from the picture frame, and fit the back with the chicken wire. Then create a collage with a few choice papers for the backdrop.

I decided to incorporate my favorite passage from Kate Chopin's The Awakening for a little literary inspiration.

The voice of the sea is seductive; never ceasing, whispering, clamoring, murmuring, inviting the soul to wander for a spell . . . The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace.
(Kate Chopin, The Awakening)

This was a super easy and FUN project, and I just love how all my jewelry looks arranged on the pretty displays.

What home-projects have you been working on this spring?

Oh these are so pretty. Pinterest has a lot of neat ideas on there. I'll have to try this since my jewelry is laying in three or four jewelry cases and needs to be organized. Blessings and hugs.. xoxo

Hi Sheri, hope this finds you doing good on this Monday Morning.. I wanted to let you know that I do live in the country and have all my life.. We live near a small town which is small compared to the big cities. It takes me about fifteen to twenty minutes to drive to town but I love it. We do live on a paved road where there is quite a bit of traffic but we've got used to that over the years. I live in the same neighborhood I grew up in..Our Closest Big Cities are Atlanta, Chattanooga and Asheville.. We live in the far Western County of N.C. Next to the Georgia Line.. If you do decide to move to the country I believe you will truly enjoy it. It's a more slow pace and more relaxing . But that's coming from an old country girl. lol. Here's wishing you all the best in whatever You all decide to do.. Much love and hugs, Susie

Nel I love your jewelry wall it came out great!!! Andrea just posted on how she hangs her jewelry too! They are both different styles but they both have all the jewelry out on display, so much nicer than stuffed in a box. Great job! Tell your Mom hi, Laura

I should really do this...my things are all jumbled together in a drawer. I like how yours are out in the open and you can see everything at once!

lol... thats not chicken wire you silly girl. That stuff is used for corners of walls before you plaster dry wall on them. I could use an entire wall of hanging jewelry.... hmmm where could I put it? My luck, it would be out in the garage lol
big hugs!

I haven't really been working on anything because somehow I bit more than I should have ;)...

I decided to change my dressing room to my bedroom. And vice versa.
The second has better light than the first and I feel I need the light now... can't say why but when before I was ok with it I suddenly crave for sleeping there and it's ok to have a dimmer dressing room (need to remember to double check the shoes in the morning ahahahah I once went to work with a brown and a black shoe... no one noticed but still ;)).

Anyway, the "new" dressing room has a thin slice of wall available that will look wonderful with this idea. Going to steal it right away. I think I'm pinning it later so I know where to find it, for when I can diy for that room.

Thanks, Nel. For the inspiration and the soothing words.

Take Care and Have a wonderfully Awaked Week.

Yours,
Teresa
