A Big Smile On His Face

As I told you before, me and my son are very close.  He came home one day with a big smile on his face saying, "I got another tattoo."  My first response was, "Oh no, not again."  "You'll never guess what it is," he said.  "What?" I asked.  "A hummingbird.  I got it for you," he said.  As you know, the hummingbird is my beloved bird, and I guess if he had to get a tattoo, I'm glad he chose this.  Now, he'll always have a part of his mom close to him.

Speaking of hummingbirds, one flew right in front of me, and I tried to get a picture of it, but they fly away so quickly.

I found this garden stake and just had to buy it.

Do you have any
hummingbirds
around
your home?

Aw! Your son got the hummingbird to remind him of you. So sweet!

Sorry it's been so long since I've visited. I've barely been able to keep up with my own blog the last few weeks of school.

I hope all's well with y'all!

Better say that boy to keep fit or the hummingbird might look a Tiranosauros Rex in a few years ahahahahahah

I so love it. He receives the Best Son Award for this :swoon:.

I guess in his heart others couldn't tell so he had to have a visual scar/medal to proclaim the Love. That's the only reason I "allow" tattoos.

Dear daughter started making some noises but I'm doing the same I did with her brother - when you're old enough to choose and stick with it ;) so she's waiting - really waiting - for her 18th birthday to have - what I know will be - her first. Dear Son when reaching it decided he no longer fancied it.

You know me pretty well and know I'm too inconstant to have tattoos but I really love it. Love your son's. His Gesture.

Enjoy the hummingbird, Handsome. And the Cross... Mom. And Life!

Yours,
Teresa

P.S. No hummingbirds in my Country. At least, I've never seen one... I wanted them to live in my garden... I even went searching what I should have in it to bring them on but then I fretted - and you know me - that it would be cheating with nature. ;). Lovely Plaque, Dear Friend!!! Beautiful!!!

What a touching moment, that you son would do this for YOU. It goes to show ME how to read the language of love. One of life's lessons for me is having had to decipher how someone shows their love for me. I expect one thing, they show it in another way. To stop and WATCH and look for the clues that tell me that they do love me are telling and life-altering. Your son, though you may not like tatoos (ME NEITHER!), marked his skin with something that reminds him of you. Now that is unforgettable, touching and L O V E spelled out so clearly, in another "language."

WE HAVE HUMMINGBIRDS EVERYWHERE and I just love them to pieces, Sheri!

Enjoy another magical day! Anita

One of my son's is a tattoo artist and he actually saw our hummingbird pictures on my blog and wants us to set up again to get more for him - so he can tattoo them on people. LOL Crazy coincidence, huh? Anyway - I had trouble getting good pictures of hummingbirds, too - so my husband set a camera on a tripod and I operated it from a remote inside the back door. Hello sweet one!

Thank YOU for your touching comment about what I cherish very much: writing. You are correct; it is NOT easy to polish the drafts, the ideas. But if I can write something that is clear, profound for at least ONE person, then I've done what my heart and mind have set out to do.

Love has its own language; I want to be fluent in it.

HUGS! Anita

A mother and son are so very special.
I am so very close to my son also.
Love his tat.
Do I ever have hummingbirds. I put up three feeders on the front porch and let me tell you I have 6 to 10 birds at a time feeding. I can hardly keep up with making their food. But I love them! They are so entertaining.
Have a great weekend.

I had a quick laugh Sheri, you sound very much like my own Mom, I have tattoos and anytime I told her I got a new one, she just sighed and would say "oh no" hehe but the last one I got was in memory of my brother and when I showed her she had tears in her eyes and she loves it! Wishing you a great weekend, Xo, Ashley

lovely sentiment! and I love your little hummingbird plaque. I adore them, they make friends with you when you have feeders for them. I've had them tap on the window to let me know the feeder is empty.

A few years ago one flew into my living room window. It was just stunned, but I picked it up and put it in a sunny spot hidden from the cats (!) so it could revive itself. That whole summer, that same humming bird kept coming back to visit me. It would hover close by while I was sitting on the porch or weeding the garden. They are so smart!!! Love them

Hello Dear Sheri!

What a beautiful gesture....very, very sweet.

Hummingbirds...they are so magical to me. We live on the third floor, so I don't really get to see them...
But when I lived in Detroit, I visited their zoo...they have the most extraordinary indoor butterfly and hummingbird garden...it was like stepping into a fairytale!

I want to thank you so much for coming by to see the lilacs and bunnies! They bring so much joy, I'm glad you liked them too.. :)))
Wishing you a most lovely and relaxing weekend!
Hugs,
- Irina

Good morning sweet friend.

Our parents are US. When they leave, it never seems "right" in our minds and spirits again, but we march on. But the beauty is that they live in us too, and that's the HEARTBREAKER. But it's beautiful, and we are living to TELL THE STORY.

Much love and thank you for coming to visit. Have a super day!!!!!!! Anita

Hi Sheri,
I was so magically close to a humming bird the other day at a garden center, what a joy they are to see!

Your print is on it's way and should arrive today or tomorrow.

Blessings!

Hi Sheri,
What a loving son. If one is to have a tattoo what better one to have than a Hummingbird, and for his mom. And this is a gift from him to you...how sweet..we love it when we have this special visitor at our garden.

Dear Sheri,

How wonderful your son got this beautiful hummingbird tattoo and love the sweet garden stake too.
Here in NZ we do not have hummingbirds, so I enjoy seeing them when I visit my friends on the other side of the world.

Enjoy the weekend, and many thanks for visiting me and the kind birthday wishes for my husband.
hugs

Hi Sheri,

thanks for visiting me today.
As for your question, you are welcome to use my photo and would be grateful if you could please just mention my name. Thanks.
The sunsets were really amazing and I have never seen anything like it - that was taken from the over water villa. ( If you enlarge the photo you can see a villa in the distance.

hugs

What an honor that he loves you so much. I am very close with my son too. One of the loves of my life.
Hummingbirds are so fun to see. I don't get them here in the city, but see them at our cottage and it is always such a moment of joy.
Hugs.

In Germany you won't see hummingbirds in nature (as far as I know :)), but when being on honeymoon in California we stayed in a restaurant near Sequoia Ntl Park called "The Hummingbirds" (23 years ago :)) and there were lots of hummingbirds! Since then I love these little birds and I think it is a great honour that your son chose the hummingbird as a tatoo!
Wish you well, Barbara
