Snow Day

A play date in the snow makes for a perfect day in January.

This is beautiful Big Bear, California.

We strolled through the village

and captured a few shots.

And of course we made time for sledding!

A pleasant winter date...

Jess, the photos are gorgeous! I remember Big Bear Mountain and Lake! I used to live in Belmont Shores (just outside of Long Beach) in the mid 1970's. You brought back sweet memories but I'm sure it looks a lot different now. It looks like a wonderful play date! Say hello to your mom for me!

What a lovely place to visit. The stage coach is a great reminder of how much America has grown. The pictures are wonderful. California has so much to see. I need to go back one day soon..Thanks for the delightful visit..

Loved the pictures, they really took me back... My grandmother used to own a dress shop in Big Bear. I remember the crunch of the snow under my feet and the smell of woodsmoke on a cold winters morning. Thanks for sharing and taking me back!

Hi Jess!

I grew up in Los Angeles and dreamt of living somewhere where it snowed. It wasn't until I was married that I moved to Massachusetts and now live in the Midwest where we get lots of snow! The past two years however, our winters have been sparse.

I will never forget when I was about 10 years old, and my dad said he was taking me to the snow up to Big Bear. I was so excited and little did I know that our trip in March would mean very little snow. I was thrilled to just see patches of ice! Then suddenly, there was a freak accident that resulted in an avalanche of ice to come down and hurt a few people, so we had to leave. That was my childhood experience with Big Bear!

LOVELY PHOTOS! Anita

What a beautiful day you had Jess, blue sky, sledding, so much fun : ) I haven't seen the snow this winter and looking so forward to it. If it doesn't snow in the cities, it means I will have to wait the mountains visit to play with the snow : ) Have a lovely Sunday : ) ( And thank you so much Sheri for your generous sweet words, I am happy you liked the Audrey post : ) )

Big Bear looks like a lovely place to visit. So many beautiful sights! Great photographs! I'm especially fond of your black and white images, but they all are wonderful. Sledding is so much fun! My husband and I are in our early 50's, but still love to sled. I guess we are big kids at heart. Thanks for sharing such beauty!

The snow is beautiful! Looks like it was a great day. We have not had much snow here this year in the Seattle area. It snowed while we were in Florida during the holiday, but we missed it due to being gone. We had a wonderful holiday in Florida with our family. Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year! xoxo Kim @ Bluebirds and Butterflies
