Wedding Doll

Nel is getting married in five months!  I was looking at my china doll that sits in my china cabinet, and it reminded me of her.  My mom made this for me 31 years ago.  My mom was an amazing seamstress that could sew just about anything.  What is so special about this doll is that she is wearing a replica of my own wedding dress, which my mom also made.  When she saw this doll, she wanted to make a smaller version of my dress, so I could remember it always.  She hand sewed the beads on the veil, and she even found a doll who has brown eyes and long brown hair, just like me.

Her eyes look so real-like.  I think she is lovely.

This is a jewel to put on a candle that I saw at Pier 1 Imports.  I still have to get a wedding candle for it.

Nel, it won't be long now that you'll be walking down that isle...

And driving away in this!!

This picture, once, resembled thee."

Dear Sheri,
This is such an edearing post. I have tears in my eyes.
How lovely that your mum made a copy of your wedding outfit. Which i might say is divine, so soft and delicate. Do we get to see the wedding photo!
I am sure that Nel is running around.
I feel that a wedding should be simple with close family and friends.
Will be keeping watch for more info..
Thank you Sheri. love to the girls.

That WEDDING DOLL is gorgeous. A priceless treasure to be passed down through the generations of your family. I'm sure Nel's wedding is going to be picture perfect. Of course there is always a debacle or two that adds it's own unique charm to the festivities. LOL take care.

Sheri,

I think you are very lucky indeed to have had a mother who wanted you to remember yourself as you looked on you're wedding day.

The detail on your veil is beautiful and the dress lovely.

Congratulations to your daughter and I hope the wedding goes smoothly for you. It can be a very hectic time for everyone.

I would love to have a wedding doll of my wedding dress. Unfortunately my mom didn't sew but my paternal Grandmother did and she could have made something beautiful like yours but she wasn't sewing by the time I married. Your doll is beautiful and the gown is just stunning. How lucky you are to have such a keepsake. It is just precious Sherri!

Sheri,

Your china doll is beautiful! Love the dress and the veil. When I was a little girl one of my favorite dolls was a bride doll. This is one of the most important days in a woman's life becoming a bride. Your mother was a sweetheart to make the doll for you with a similar wedding gown so you could always remember your special day. Yes, her eyes look real. Nel must be very excited. I love the jewel you picked out for candles. Are you having fun with the planning too? So many exciting events in your life this year.
