I'll Trade You...

When we were younger, our favorite part of Halloween was dressing up and going over our Grandma's house to trick-or-treat with our cousins.

We made sure to visit the houses that gave out the best candy.

Our favorite street of all was lined with a tunnel of overgrown trees.

After showing off our costumes, chowing down on pizza, and running around the neighborhood filling our pillow cases with candy (we must have driven our parents crazy!), we made it home safe and sound.

Of course there was the annual candy safety lecture and an inspection from our parents, but as soon as they gave us the go-ahead we dug right in!

The trading would then begin!  We loved to spread all of our candy onto our pillowcases, organize them, and trade with each other.

I hope some day when we have children, they have as much fun as we did at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Have a sweet weekend ;-)

Hi girls
I must admit you girls trick or treated like my kids. They couldn't wait to get home and spread out the goods. All 3 had their favourites. Their dad would get most of the Tootsie pops and the malt balls and mostly Tootsie rolls. My fav was always the little Oreo mint bars and the crispy crunch bars. The apples went directly into the garbage can (might have razor blades in them ; (
Happy Halloween girls. I'm full of memories too.

Oh those were the days..but, you have not experienced Halloween candy like we did when we were young.(believe me..i'm past 50) the candy bars were huge...and those days we didnt have to have our parents check our 'loot'! and we had no curfew..we didnt go back home until our feet gave in..what great memories we all have.

Thanks for the memory. I remember spreading out our candy on the bed and trading for the "good" stuff. Sweet post.

Oh What Fun! I grew up out in the country and never really went trick-or-treating when I was a kid...maybe to a cousin's house once or twice. What wonderful memories you have...and I know that if you have children someday you will create even MORE wonderful memories. That is why I get such a kick out of Halloween with my grandkids..and I had fun with my own kids when they were little. It was like I got to live Halloween through them.

Great post! xo Diana

Hey girls! As a self-confessed halloween-hater, I have to admit you make it all sound like fun!
Still...I'm always relieved/happy when Nov 1 rolls around and all this ghoulish nonsense is behind us.
Love that rose header photo!

I LOVE Halloween. Your memories are wonderful. We used pillowcases as treat bags, too. Take care. Happy Hauntings.

See now I'm really revealing my age. I trick or treated before the days of 'candy inspection'. No one ever had to worry about that. Did use a pillowcase and stayed out till very late. Halloween memories are wonderful! Happy Halloween to you and yours!

Hi Girls sorry it has taken so long for me to come and visit but i am glad i finally got there in the end. Loved your post and it brought back memories of when i was a kid in England.Unfortunately now living in Greece this holiday is not celebrated ! So it was nice to think back to my youth so thank you for that.

How fun that you were able to trick or treat with your cousins! It brought back good Halloween memories for me--of my trick or treating years, and also my children's. Happy Halloween!
