A Truly Special Bird

The Hummingbird is loved by the flowers and plants, for as it sucks the nectar from the flower, the plant reproduces and more of its kind are created.

The Hummingbird is the only creature that can stop dead while traveling at full speed.  It can hover, or can go forward, backward, up or down.  They never seem to stop.  Unlike other birds, they never glide, and if they are in air, their wings are in motion.

Hummingbird must fly free in search of beauty, spreading joy and love to all it touches.

Jess found this candle for me at Pier 1 Imports.

When I moved from Northern California to Southern California, I observed something wonderful.  As soon as I got to our house, I noticed the tree that was in our front yard.  This tree has flowers on the branches, and as I looked up, there was a Hummingbird greeting me at my new home.

You mean so much to us - and today we want to say...

Oh I love the humminbird so. They have been fluttering around my flowers all summer and I hate to see them go. We have to take our feeders up no later than October so they can fly south or they won't make it through the winter. I always watch for them again in the spring.. Love this post...Susie

Even with all our problems it's hard to beat living in Southern California. I've lived here all my life and have no desire to live anywhere else :-)

God bless and have a great week :-)

Yes, who doesn't love hummingbirds. This summer I actually had the rare opportunity to spot one sitting in her nest. She would fly frantically, because someone was close by, and then land in her nest, and actually sit there for a while. It was a wonder in nature to witness. Thanks for posting this.

Looking forward to enjoy it and get to know you.

P.S. I never saw a humingbird. I don't want to swear but I don't think we have them in my country (I'll have to have a look) but I always loved the way they seemed to light - they don't seem to fly but lounge in the air... oh, but let's not think it's a lighteness of being; they work plenty to keep that look

Your daughter is so sweet, and that candle is beautiful! :-)

I've never seen hummingbirds in real life because we don't have them here in the Philippines. I've only seen them in pictures and on television. It is so interesting to learn about how these birds can actually help a plant grow. :-)

We love hummingbirds. My husband is always finding hummingbirds on the internet and saves the pictures for me. He is an invalid and he enjoys sitting outside watching them. They come to eat and drink water. Their is one that does not want anyone else eating the nectar and he hides and when someone approaches the feeder he comes out and scares them away. Love this post. Hugs...Lu
