A Special Day

Nel is getting married next Fall, and we are in the planning stages right now.  She has decided to use my veil that my Mother made me when I got married.  She wants to work with it and create something that she can wear on her special day.  My Mom hand sewed the beads on the veil making it look so vintage, and she would be so honored that Nel wants to wear the veil that she made 31 years ago.

Something old..

Something new..

Something borrowed..

Something blue..

My little girl is getting married, Oh My!!

So Nel, if you ever get the wedding-planning blues and tugged in too many directions, just relax and remember this.....

Wow, how fun for both of you...yes, lots of stress in planning, (especially the last three months) but I would say this is a very special time to enjoy and remember.

Congratulations!! You sent me a note asking for suggestions. The veil is just stunning. I would not change a thing about it, so timeless and so classic. I would probably go very light on the other jewelry since the veil has alot of beautiful detail. A necklace may be too much.

What happy news. Congrats to you both! What an exquisite veil. I am sure Mother is smiling down upon Nel's choice. How proud you can be that your daughter treasures the 'old'.

TTFN ~
Have a great weekend.

How wonderful!! A wedding!! The fun you will have!!!
I LOVE my boys, and in my opinion boys are the BEST!! But, I don't have a daughter to compare to!! This wedding thing will make me sad when one of my boys gets to that, because I, as the mother of the groom, won't get to do all of that fun planning!!!
I can hope they will include me, but a mom and a girl are quite a pair when the wedding talk starts!!! I envy you!! Because I think it will be the most enjoyable thing ever!! Then, when she gets stressed out, you and she can have a lovely cocktail in those awesome glasses!!!
Did you make them? They are fab!! I would use them now, and I've been married for 20 years!!LOL!!

Daniella,
Thanks for your wonderful comments. I didn't make the glass...wish I did, but I thought it was funny so I took a picture of it. We saw them at the wineries we went to this summer. I love going over to visit you at your blog. You have alot of fabulous ideas!!

That is a beautiful veil! Well preserved, too! What a blessing to have it to present to Nel! I know she will look radiant in it. I am getting very excited about my son getting married, too. November 5th is getting closer and closer! Last week, I selected my Mother of the Groom dress and rehearsal dinner outfit. I know Nel will be a gorgeous bride! Can't wait to see her photos! xoxo Kim

What a wonderful post and a wonderful blog. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and inviting me to see yours. Your pictures are wonderful, and I really enjoyed reading through the posts. I have had one child married so far, but it was a son so I didn't have the wedding dress and all that stuff to get involved with, but I have a daughter as well, (and two more boys) so I suspect there will be more weddings. I'll definitely be back to visit your blog again. Great job. I love that you are all doing it together. That's so nice. Have a great weekend!

Oh sweet Sherri,

HOW EXCITING FOR YOU ALL! And your veil is so beautiful. HER RING IS MARVELOUS and it is going to be a splendid memory for all. Oh if Ruben and I did it all over again, I would have the same bride's gown as Audrey Hepburn wore in FUNNY FACE...so princess like!!

Dearest, thank you for your visit to my blog post. I will be back more than likely next week as usual; I literally took a one day vacation from thinking too hard about my writing goals....but I think I found the cure: BE MYSELF.

That's about all any artist can do after all the training and practice.

ENJOY AND THANKS FOR STOPPING BY! Anita

May be one day, when my daughter is getting ready for her wedding she will want to wear my veil too...Which by the way my mom made for me too. Congratulations to her!

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit and I do hope you come and visit again soon. Have a wonderful weekend.

I will have to scroll some more to see what Nel did with that lovely veil. Amber is back and forth about wanting to wear one...she really don't want to so I figure she will not. That one is beautiful though. I have her borrowed and something old. Will have to see where the blue and new come from.....oh wait, will the new dress be NEW?
